Woodhaven High School
The school's mascot is the Wolverine and its colors are maroon and gold. Students originate from Brownstown and Woodhaven, Michigan as well as Trenton, Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Huron Shores, and Rockwood areas of Wayne County.
Woodhaven High School is a public school in the Downriver area of Metro Detroit. Students are drawn from nearby townships, as well as nearby cities. It serves roughly 1300 students with a staff of 90 teachers and 20 support staff.
The high school has one forensics state championship team which competes in Public Forum Debate. Woodhaven also offers football, Cross Country, Swim, Track/Field, Wrestling, Men's and Women's Soccer, Volleyball (both men's and women's), Competitive Cheer, Baseball, Softball, Golf (men's and women's), Boys Lacrosse (beginning in 2014).
The school colors are maroon and gold. These colors were chosen due to an abundance of those colors in the community.
The mascot is a wolverine, chosen as a result of its association with Woodhaven's first postmaster, Louis Groesbeck. He named his home after the Michigan state animal due to his admiration for its strength and perseverance.
